Camping

Ok, so I know it's been a long time since I've done a family blog. We've been quite busy. I should back blog, but that's just not going to happen. The kids are now out of school and next year I am going to home school them. Also, we are in the process of adopting. To read our journey and see where we're at, check out our adoption blog http://graftedinhoovers.blogspot.com/

This past weekend we went camping!! We went about an hour west to Perry Lake in KS. It took quite a while to set up camp and the kids were rather cranky, but we got it all set up and took a walk around camp to check it out, find bathrooms, ect...
We found this pitiful playground, but at least they could climb!
And a tree to climb.
Then we head back to eat dinner.
Then we played some soccer. Ephraim has amazing raw talent. We're gonna have to try and get him into soccer this fall!
That night we had massive thunderstorms!!! We were very thankful to have a tent that kept us dry!! I was shocked! The next day it was sunny and hot. After an easy breakfast of banana bread I had baked and froze two days earlier, we went for a hike! It was 2.5 miles. Perfect, although the kids didn't think so. They were definitely complaining and saying they couldn't make it and were gonna "die". Oh the feelings of kids! They were very excited at the end to say that "They Did It!!" We found a lot of fun things on the hike......

Judah had to do his "cool" pose.
We found daisies with which we taught them "They love me, they love me not"
We also found this vine to swing on.
We also found lots of snails! Jacob loves animals and collected many and put them into his shirt pocket. The did NOT leave the woods though!
Paul also, pointed out some of the different types of trees by the leaves.
And we found a deer track.

Break time with some trail mix.
A leaf that had some things on it, that we plan to do research on to figure out what it is. I will probably wait to do it after July so I can count it as school :)
After the hike, we ate lunch and then headed to a near by beach at the lake.
It was really nice to have family time and start or Summer Vacation. Now, preparing for a baby and homeschooling.
