Another Sewing Adventure

I've been hating the pile of plastic bags under the sink and I've seen holders for them at stores and saw that they seemed pretty easy to make. I finally got the ambition to do it and it took me less than 30 min!! It's far from perfect, but I didn't want to spend much time on it. No one is really going to see it, and it does the job!! I used a pair of my sons pants that one leg had a hole in it. I cut the other leg off and sewed elastic in the un-hemmed edge and used another piece of the pants to make a strap. So the bottom of the pant is actually the top.

Put bags in from the top.....

And pull one out from the bottom when needed!!

Now my bags are hanging in our garage right outside our kitchen over our chest freezer. Easy access and no mess!!

Birthday Fun

Last week my sweet Ephraim turned 6! I can't believe it! He is my little "Peanut" he is in the 25% for height and weight now, but as you can see he was quite a chunky baby! He is such a giving little boy! Now if we can work on the whining, we'd be all set!

For his birthday he wanted to go to Chuck-E-Cheese.

Instead of presents he wanted to shop. So after Chuck-E-Cheese, we went to Toysrus. Instead of being like most kids, he wanted to share his money and bought each of his brothers a Kun-Zu Pet and his sister a little doll. He's so sweet! It's so interesting having such extremely different children. Judah is so opposite Ephraim. He just wanted more from Ephraim instead of be thankful for what he got, that he wouldn't normally get in the first place. It makes me so frustrated!! Ephraim even spent some of his money on a month of Toontown (cartoon online game) for all the boys.

After the store we went to Yogurtini (frozen yogurt) for dessert instead of the typical cake at home. The little kids fell asleep in the car and Judah lost his privilege for ice cream, so Paul took Ephraim in by himself so, no pics of that.

Store Comparisons

With the prices of things going up, including gas (holy cow!!) I've been trying to figure out where else I can save money. Recently we got a membership to Costco, but I don't just trust that because it's in bulk that it's actually cheaper. So, I went to my normal grocery stores and priced a ton of stuff. I found the unit price and compared to each store to find out what is cheaper where. Since this took a lot of time and work, I thought I would share my findings with you all. Now, when I go shopping, I know exactly what to buy at which store. Even though the difference may seem little in the spread sheet, remember it is per unit, and it all adds up! I highlighted the cheapest unit to coordinate with the store. Yellow-Costco, Blue-Aldi, Orange-Walmart. The pink ones are the ones I'm still missing. I don't have everything, but eventually I might! Number of things cheaper. Looks like my membership will be worth it :)
